Peter’s Perspective, Summer 2026 Edition

Summer has arrived in Ontario, bringing with it two of my favourite treats, fresh cherries and blueberries. One of the highlights of the season has been taking our convertible out for weekend drives. On one such outing, we stopped at Sheldon Creek Dairy for ice cream cones, a perfect way to cool off on a warm afternoon.

Angela and I have also enjoyed a wonderful mix of music and culture this summer. We listened to the Mudmen, in Creemore, where the Campbell Brothers combined spirited bagpipe music with country favourites, and attended the Elora Festival to hear the remarkable ensemble Constantinople, whose eclectic blend of musical traditions made for a memorable evening.

Closer to home, we attended poetry open mics at Go Yoga in Orangeville and celebrated the Summer Solstice with friends at the Grey Goat in Newmarket. We also spent a delightful afternoon touring the Red Begonia Tea Garden with Anne Brolley before indulging in tea, cakes, tarts, muffins, and perhaps a few too many sweets!

The writing community has been just as busy. We hosted two Author Lunches, bringing our friends Gina X. Grant on one occasion and Des Ryan on another. We sat together for great food, lively conversation, and discussions on everything from storytelling to marketing. Book signings have been a wonderful opportunity to meet readers. Angela and I enjoyed signing books together at the Brampton Indigo in June, and I was delighted by the excellent turnout at my Barrie Indigo signing later that month.

I’m also excited to share some publishing news. Outfoxed is now available as an audiobook through ACX, making the Inspector William Fox series available in a new format. Order your copy today here: https://www.amazon.ca/arya/webplayer?asin=B0HC51J5V9

Thank you to Wai Yip Tam who narrated the book and brought the characters to life!

Even more exciting, my third novel, A Measure of Morality, has now gone to the editor’s and is on track for release this September.
Looking ahead, I’d love to see some of you at my upcoming events:
● September 12 – Bringing the Action to Life, a free presentation at the Mississauga Literary Festival.
● September 26 – Book signing with Angela and myself at Indigo Cambridge, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
● September 27 – Book signing at Indigo Newmarket, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Finally, if you’ve enjoyed one of my books, I’d be deeply grateful if you would consider leaving a review. Reviews are one of the most valuable ways readers can help independent authors reach new audiences.
Until next time, enjoy the rest of your summer. Take time to relax, spend time with family and friends, and never forget that reading is one of the best exercises for the mind.
Happy reading,

Peter
